April Merson B.Sc., CPO, C.O.(c)
April Merson is a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist with the American Board of Certification (ABC) and a Certified Orthotist with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC). She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Prosthetists & Orthotists (OAPO).
After completing her Bachelors of Science in Biology, April went on to complete her diploma in orthotics and prosthetics for both technical (2001) and clinical methods (2003) from George Brown College. Following her studies in Toronto, she completed her residency at the University of Rochester Medical Centre, NY achieving her orthotics certification in 2005 and her prosthetics certification in 2007. She has experience in pediatric orthotics, having worked as an orthotist with Holland Bloorview Kid’s Rehabilitation Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children. She joined Orthoticare in 2009 and became the owner in 2012.
April works with both adult and pediatric patients for upper and lower extremity bracing.
Our Lab
Our custom made orthotics are made onsite in our lab, to ensure your orthotic device is made with care in a timely manner. All needed adjustments can be easily made when you are fit with your brace or during your followup appointment while you wait.
Associates
Orthoticare works with associate clinicians and technicians in orthotics as well as other clinical partners.
